About the space
Our beach-side hideaway has breathtaking views over the stunning sandy beach of Mawgan Porth on the North Cornwall Coast.
The modern south facing two bedroom apartment has a large open plan living area which opens out on to the terrace and communal lawn overlooking the beach.
A two minute walk from the front door and down the sandy path through the dunes takes you to the epic beach or South West coast path. Three minutes walk the other way past the pitch and putt golf course takes you to the shops and restaurants of the village centre.
Inside
3 White Lodge is a contemporary two bedroom home, part of a small sea front block of apartments.
Inside the apartment there’s everything you need for an easy break away including TV, free WiFi, towels and linen, central heating and a dishwasher. Outside there’s an allocated parking space and lockable storage for surfboards and wetsuits.
The open plan living space has double doors leading out to your own patio and the communal lawn with views over the beach and headland. There’s a comfy corner sofa and a dining area with a table for four.
The good sized kitchen is fully equipped for everything you need for a change from the nearby restaurants and cafes including a dishwasher, full size fridge freezer and washing machine.
The modern family bathroom has a bath with shower over.
We love to welcome families and have a few things to make it easier – a travel cot & mattress (please bring your own babies bedding), a high chair and kids plates & cutlery.
Sleeping
Bedroom 1 has a king sized bed with a pocket sprung mattress and crisp cotton sheets. There’s hanging space and a chest of drawers.
Bedroom 2 has two single beds. We also have a travel cot if required.
Outside
Through the lounge doors is your own patio space with a bench for enjoying a morning coffee overlooking the beach. There’s an outside private locking cupboard for surfboards etc. Guests also have use of the lawn with fantastic sea views – shared with the other apartments in the building.

“What a wonderful few days we have had. David’s property is perfectly placed to visit a wide variety of Cornish treasures from Newquay, Port Issac and Padstow. We particularly loved Mawgan Porth Beach and being just a stones throw from the house was perfect for us and the kids.

Robyn“We had a fantastic week staying here at the beginning of May. You can’t beat the proximity to the beach and the view from the bench on the patio. Inside is spacious and comfortable with a large sofa and dining table. The kitchen is fully equipped should you choose to cook. Otherwise there are nice places to eat ~5 minutes walk away. The owners run the rental really well, with clear communication from booking to checking in/out, and are keen to share their local tips. We walked the coast path from the front door in both directions, walked up the river valley, and went surfing, without getting in a car. The bus stop is less than 5 mins walk away too. Don’t hesitate to book a stay here!”

The secret little snicket down to the the beach is the ultimate dream; you weave through the sand dunes & tall grass before the Atlantic Ocean hypnotises you!

But more than that it is a beautiful part of the world to wake up each day hearing the waves crashing on the beach. Its location is great so that you don’t feel you are travelling hours to get to other parts of Cornwall. We did go all over from Land’s End to Lizard and up to Tintagel as well as visiting local places like Newquay and Padstow. David and Claire were super helpful and approachable. Perfect hosts really. It’s a short walk to the beach down the hill (Mawgan Porth has the BEST beach – lovely golden sand, rock pools, caves), and there are multiple choices for food and drink too. Mawgan Porth is a family friendly cove, located on the rugged stretch of coastline between Padstow and Watergate Bay. Popular with surfers, families and outdoor explorers, the location is a great base for exploring the ‘Seven Bays’ coastline and other Cornish gems such as the Eden Project, The Lost Gardens of Heligan, the Minack Theatre, Padstow and Bedruthen Steps. The village has a pub, seafood restaurant, deli and shops, takeaways and surf school.
